What is MORPHEUS8 Skin Tightening ?
Morpheus8 Skin Tightening is defined as a sub-dermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) that utilizes the combination of fine needles with radio-frequency technology to remodel the building blocks of the skin and beyond. I use Morpheus8 to strategically target the skin and sub-dermal layer of the skin to stimulate collagen production while accomplishing skin tightening and tactical volumetric reduction by melting fat. The Morpheus8 micropins penetrate 4mm deep into the skin which allows true contouring to occur by melting fat with skin tightening. There is little to no damage to the dermis with almost no patient downtime. Most patients experience mild redness and swelling for only a few hours after treatment.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT DO?

Am I a Good Candidate?
Healthy individuals from 30 to 55 years old are ideal candidates for Morpheus8 treatment. Candidates with sagging skin, wrinkles, acne or scars (including surgical scars, stretch marks and acne scars) are the best candidates.
Candidates must not be pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients who are undergoing radiation treatments or have an active skin infection in the treatment area are not good candidates for the treatment.

During your consultation, we will listen to your goals and evaluate if Morpheus8 is suitable for you. We will go over your medical history and inquire about your current medications, and a personalized treatment plan will be developed.

How quickly will I see results with Morpheus8?
Some tigthening will be visible immediately. New collagen and elastin formation begins after about 4 weeks, and becomes more noticeable about 3-6 months after treatment, and continues to improve for a full year!
How many Morpheus8 treatments will I need?
Depending on your particular needs and desires, 1-3 treatments are typical. Morpheus8 treatments are permanent, but skin continues to age consistent with lifesyle and genetics. Skin needs to be encouraged to continue to create new collagen and elastin in order to maintain a youthful appearance. Therefore, subsequent treatments may be recommended every 18 months to 2 years as a part of a rejuvenation maintenance plan.

Before your Morpheus8 procedure: 2 WEEKS BEFORE treatment, avoid sun exposure (tans/burns/tanning beds/spray tans) 1 WEEK BEFORE treatment, discontinue all topical products containing Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Vitamin C, or any anti-aging products. 10-14 DAYS BEFORE treatment, do not ingest blood thinning medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve. If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor prior to stopping the use of blood thinners. Also, avoid herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John's Wort, and Omega-3 capsules. 3 DAYS BEFORE We recommend starting Arnica tablets to minimize bruising. 2 DAYS BEFORE treatment, do not drink alcoholic beverages. AVOID bleaching, waxing, tweezing, shaving, or using depilatory creams in the treatment area. Use sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection with SPF 30 or higher. If you have a history of Herpes or cold sores, a course of anti-viral medication before and after treatment is required. Please call our office for a prescription. Day of your procedure Please come to the office without make-up, creams, gels, or lotions on treatment areas. A topical anesthetic will be applied to your skin, and you will numb for 45-60 minutes. Once the treatment is complete, we will apply Aquaphor. If a compression garment is recommended, we will supply you with one and provide application and wear instructions. What to Expect Minimal pinkness/redness may last for up to 1 week. Superficial bruising may occur, typically around the eyes. Small needle marks may be present for a few days to a week post-procedure. After your procedure Wait a few hours (preferably at bedtime) before gently washing your face or body. Using a gentle cleanser, massage your face or body to remove the remaining serum and dried blood. Sleep in a slightly elevated position for the first 2-3 days to help prevent additional swelling. 1 DAY AFTER start to use your Aquaphor twice daily for 10 days for optimal results. 2 DAYS AFTER Avoid consuming alcohol and/or smoking 2 days after your procedure. 4 DAYS AFTER Avoid taking NSAIDS (Aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), Vitamin E, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba, Ginseng, and St. John's Wart to reduce your risk of bruising and swelling. 1 WEEK AFTER You may start using your regular skin care regimen. Using a retinol product is strongly recommended as it will optimize your results. 10 DAYS AFTER Avoid direct sun exposure for 10 days post-treatment. NO TANNING BEDS.
